Doorway into the old vault at our cemetary… once used to store the dead over the winter and the catalyst of many ghost stories over the years.
The thumbnails have been resurrected from the Fall of 2009. This could also be titled “A Study in Grey” as in grey days.
January 25, 2010 - 12:18 am - Have you ever seen the old movie "The premature Burial" this vault reminds me of it...please tell me there is not a bell on the top??? LOL LOVE LOVE LOVE the details from the doors..the chippy paint the monotones...
January 9, 2010 - 1:35 pm - Great shots Pat. The snowy scene is beautiful, without a footprint in it. The lines, colors and detail of the doors are all well captured. Nicely done!
January 6, 2010 - 7:38 pm - I remember and admire the shots from last year, I don't remember if you said what had been behind them. The snowy shot is so well composed. Is that a wreath at the gable top? The bit of green is a bit of warmth.
January 6, 2010 - 3:22 pm - A bit disappointed at the dearth of fake chooks, but the whole lot of these show a degree of artistic talent that I can dream of without any real hope of achieving. You have shown things in those doors that I would have glanced past. Well done. I would not actually be where the air freezes though so I admire the snow without wanting to live with it!
January 6, 2010 - 12:00 pm - Were we both traipsing around snowy cemeteries this week? But, I think I'm glad I wasn't at yours - it looks kind of creepy! I love your shots, though. The broad expanse of snow in the foreground emphasizes the isolation of the vault and the trees frame it so nicely.
January 6, 2010 - 11:39 am - Love the monontone colors in this door...it brings out the texture that much more! My favorite picture has to be your last one...love how the snow and the trees frame the old vault...it does look rather cold and haunting (I can see how the ghost stories have been conjured up during the years)...this gives me the "shivers"! :)
